This photographic print shows the novelist James Michener, and its caption card links him to war correspondence and the Korean War. Michener, who won the Pulitzer Prize for fiction for *Tales of the South Pacific* (1947), reported from Asia during the early 1950s, when the conflict on the Korean peninsula had drawn American journalists and writers to the front. The catalog data comes from an older caption card and has not been independently verified, so the date of about 1950 is an estimate. The print is held in the collection of papers and related material assembled around Michener's work.
