Few theater posters of the 1890s packed as many titles onto one sheet as this color lithograph, which lists a Yiddish repertory ranging from the biblical King Solomon and the second-century rebel Bar Kokhba to Offenbach's operetta *La Périchole*. Printed in New York in 1897 by Joseph Kroger, it reflects the booming Yiddish stage of the Lower East Side, where immigrant audiences could hear Jewish history and European light opera in their own language. The inclusion of *Kol Nidre*, named for the Yom Kippur prayer, alongside comic pieces such as *Hannah the Finisher*, shows how broadly these playbills mixed sacred, historical and popular fare.
