A 1936 Federal theater Project poster for Julian F. Thompson's comedy *The Warrior's Husband*, promoted as "brilliantly humorous," stands out for its Los Angeles production and its gender-reversed premise: a title that casts the husband, not the warrior, as the one to be teased. The Federal theater Project, part of the Works Progress Administration, employed artists and theater workers during the Depression and staged plays across the country, often at low prices. Its poster unit made silkscreen posters like this one, which were bold, flat-colored, and designed to be read quickly from a street corner.
