Paul Revere's engraving, titled *The Bloody Massacre perpetrated in King Street, Boston*, shows British troops in a neat line firing on a crowd in front of the Custom House on March 5, 1770. The shooting killed five colonists, including Crispus Attucks, and Revere published the image within weeks to turn public opinion against the army. Historians note that the print is propaganda: it shows the soldiers as orderly aggressors and the crowd as peaceful, while contemporary testimony was more mixed. Its images spread widely and helped shape colonial anger in the years before the Revolution.
