A set dinner table, laid for a holiday meal, is the subject of this c1923 stereograph, a paired photograph mounted on a card so that viewers using a stereoscope saw the scene in three dimensions. Keystone View Company, one of the largest American makers of stereo cards in the early twentieth century, produced this view, and its cards were sold door to door and through schools and parlors as both entertainment and armchair travel. The record's caption notes are unverified, so the exact household or setting is not known, but the table reflects how Thanksgiving was celebrated in the 1920s, when the holiday had long been a national observance with a traditional dinner at its center.
