The west corner of the New York State Capitol in Albany, photographed on March 29, 1911, shows a building completed little more than a decade earlier, after decades of work on its heavy stone walls and ornate detailing. The Capitol's long and costly construction made it a well-known symbol of state government. The glass negative belongs to the George Grantham Bain Collection, made by a New York news photography service that supplied pictures to newspapers. The title comes from the agency's caption data and has not been independently verified.
