Aimed at men and boys with real farm experience, this lithograph urges them to join the agricultural effort at home. It was issued by the New York State Food Supply Commission in Albany around 1917, the year the United States entered the First World War. The poster includes a quotation from Governor Charles S. Whitman, which lends the state's authority to the appeal. Like many wartime posters, it links food production to the patriotic cause, at a time when farm labor was scarce and the country was working to feed its own troops and its allies.
