Little is recorded about this picture beyond its title, which pairs a man named O'More with a horse. That title comes from unverified information noted by the Bain News Service, so the identity of the man should be treated as provisional. The image survives as a glass negative in the George Grantham Bain Collection. Bain's New York agency supplied news and feature photographs to newspapers in the early twentieth century, and its horse pictures often show city streets, stables, and sporting events at a time when motor vehicles were beginning to replace horses for everyday work.
