Rather than a view of a place or person, this item is a print of an advertisement for a typewriter, published in the March 1896 issue of *Illustrated Photographic World*. Its appearance in a photography journal suggests the machine was being marketed to a broad readership, not only to office clerks. By the mid-1890s typewriters had become a common tool in businesses, and advertisements of the period often promised speed and clean, legible pages. The date and magazine come from an older caption card and have not been independently verified.
