The title sets the joke: a shocked "Oh! - tee hee! - horrors!" over the remark that politics makes strange bedfellows, which points to an unlikely alliance in the fight over women's voting rights. Drawn by Nelson Greene and published in the humor weekly *Puck* on April 11, 1914, it appeared during a period when the woman suffrage campaign was drawing both sympathy and ridicule in the national press. *Puck* was known for its color lithographic cartoons, so the print shows the magazine's graphic style as well as its political commentary. The catalog subject heading files it under women, politics, and suffrage.
