The winged horse Pegasus, from Greek myth, is the subject of this 1895 color poster for *The Chap-Book*, a small Chicago literary periodical. Will H. Bradley (1868-1962) designed it in the flat-color, sinuous-line style that made him a leading figure in American poster art, drawing on Art Nouveau and Japanese prints. The magazine was one of the mid-1890s publications where Bradley's graphic work helped shape the look of American print design. The date and caption details come from an older card and are unverified.
