Calling young people to join the settlement strongholds, this silkscreen poster was produced for a Keren Hayesod youth project. Keren Hayesod was the fundraising body founded in 1920 to finance Jewish settlement in Palestine. Its Hebrew signature and the inscription "Palestine '49" place it in the months after the 1948 war, when frontier communities were vital to holding land and securing borders. Pioneering youth movements recruited members to farm and defend these outposts, and posters like this one tied personal commitment to national building. Its bold color and simplified forms reflect the graphic style of Israeli posters from the 1940s.
