A long, narrow panorama, roughly 9 by 50 inches, shows the S.S. *Hamburg* leaving Havana Harbor around 1911. The print was registered for copyright in February 1911 by the American Photo Company, with the claimant's address listed in Havana. In those years the harbor, with its narrow channel guarded by colonial forts, was the main point of entry and departure for Cuba's sugar and tobacco trade and for passenger steamers linking the island to Europe and the United States. The wide format suits a scene where the ship, the channel, and the waterfront all compete for space.
