A man named Levy is shown reading the impeachment charges against William Sulzer, the New York governor whom the state Assembly impeached in the fall of 1913. The record gives no date, but the title points to that brief, turbulent episode, when a court of impeachment removed Sulzer from office. The Bain News Service, a New York press agency, supplied photographs like this one to newspapers that needed images quickly, and the title on this negative comes from data the service recorded and has not been independently verified.
