Leatrice Joy, the performer named in this poster's subject headings, was one of Cecil B. DeMille's leading actresses in the early 1920s, and her name anchors this Paramount release for *Saturday Night*. The color lithograph was printed by the Morgan Litho Company in Cleveland in 1922, part of the large body of American movie posters from the 1920s, when studios used bold sheets like this to draw theatergoers before a film opened. The record's subject headings, which note a couple, eating and drinking, point to the film's lively, nightlife-minded appeal, a theme worth looking for in the design.
