A merry Christmas from the Websters is a small holiday greeting card, a photomechanical reproduction with hand-applied watercolor on textured board, its surface still showing the grain of the card stock. The record dates it to somewhere between 1916 and 1952, and its subject tags point to a couple, marking it as a personal season's greeting rather than a commercial design. Cards like this were mailed in large numbers during those decades, when photographic portraits could be reproduced cheaply and colored by hand to look more like a keepsake. The Websters' names are the only surviving detail, so the card is best read as a glimpse of ordinary family life at the holidays.
