This etching is blunt about its target: its title mocks the British as "humane" and their Indian allies as "worthy." Drawn and engraved by William Charles and finished with watercolor, it shows George III and Henry Proctor alongside frontier allies. Printed in Philadelphia as the United States moved toward war, it reflects the American charge that London was arming tribes against settlers. Standard references on political prints and Library of Congress guides to Native history both cite it.
