*Bull VI* is the sixth image in Roy Lichtenstein's 1973 series *Six Bulls*, in which the animal is reduced to bold contours and flat areas of color. The set takes its cue from Pablo Picasso's bull lithographs of the 1940s, which move from realistic drawing toward abstraction, and Lichtenstein reverses that path by simplifying the bull into graphic shapes. This example is a five-color print combining lithography, screenprint and linocut, numbered 60 of 100 and signed and dated in pencil by the artist. The Library of Congress holds it in its Prints and Photographs Division.
