This tall color poster advertises *I Love Trouble*, a film built around the pairing of Franchot Tone and Janet Blair, whose names are the first things the design asks a viewer to notice. The record dates it to about 1947, which places it in the years when Hollywood studios produced large, vividly colored one-sheets to draw audiences to neighborhood theaters. Posters like this one were meant to be seen from across a street, so their bold color, star billing, and painted or illustrated scenes reveal as much about the selling methods of the postwar film industry as they do about the movie itself.
