Here the usual order of a stagecoach holdup is reversed, as the title "The tables turned" suggests, and the caption card's tags for crime and executions point to a scene that ends with the would-be robbers facing the law. The card was copyrighted by Ed. Tangen of Boulder, Colorado, and dated about 1911. By then stagecoach robberies were a fading memory of the frontier, so staged scenes like this one were made for the stereoscope and sold as Western entertainment. The record is unverified, so the details come from the caption card rather than a documented event.
