This glass negative records Illinois delegates meeting Theodore Roosevelt, a subject that sets it apart from the other pictures on this board. The record gives no date, so the occasion is unconfirmed, but visits by state party delegations were a regular part of Roosevelt's presidency, when local men came to press their interests or pay their respects. The Bain News Service, a New York photo agency that supplied pictures to newspapers, documented many such meetings, and its glass plates remain a useful record of who was in the room.
