Unlike the illustrated recruiting posters that dominate this board, this one is all text, set out in dense paragraphs that explain who could claim money and under what conditions. It announces higher separation allowances for soldiers' families from March 1, 1915, and was issued in London by the Parliamentary Recruiting Committee. Its wording covers wives, children and other dependants, related or not, reflecting the wartime effort to reassure men weighing enlistment that their families would be supported while they were away.
