Mrs. Reber Littlehales is pictured here ahead of her role as bridesmaid, as the title notes, at the wedding of Evelyn Wadsworth. Studio portraits of attendants and brides-to-be were a common feature of society pages in the 1920s, when newspapers often ran them before a ceremony. This print was made by the Underwood & Underwood studio in Washington, a firm known for its large volume of portrait and press work during that decade. Dated January 31, 1924, it offers a glimpse of how wedding parties were presented to the public in the capital.
