This photograph shows Hermann Göring stepping out of a wedding car with his bride as they arrive at a cathedral in Berlin in 1935. The bride was the actress Emmy Sonnemann, and the wedding was a major public event for the Nazi leadership, with Adolf Hitler serving as a witness. The print comes from Göring's own photographic archive, kept in an album of his activities for April through June 1935, so it reflects how the regime wanted its senior figures portrayed in public life.
