Issued in 1917, this color lithograph urges Austrians to subscribe to the sixth Austrian war loan, one of a series of government bond drives that financed the empire's war effort. The printed sheet, made in Innsbruck and signed by the artist W. Kühn, reflects how widely such posters were used to turn wartime patriotism into purchases of state debt. Its earlier owner, the Rehse Archiv für Zeitgeschichte und Publizistik, was a collection of contemporary history materials, which helps explain how the piece has survived.
