Seven men posed with their bicycles at the Delaware Water Gap, the steep notch where the Delaware River cuts through the Kittatinny Ridge along the Pennsylvania and New Jersey border, and the scene is typical of the leisure cycling that swept the United States in the 1890s. This is a stereograph, so it was meant to be viewed through a stereo viewer that fused two slightly offset exposures into a single three-dimensional scene. Keystone View Company, a major publisher of these cards, issued it, and its copyright credit to B.L. Singley appears on the card. The record's caption data is unverified, so the exact date and identities of the riders are uncertain.
