A.Q. Scammon's name leads this 1899 black-and-white lithograph, which advertised a stage production called *Side Tracked* under the caption "The Trans-Atlantic Trio." The poster was produced by the Russell-Morgan Print Company of Cincinnati, a commercial shop that printed large runs of theatrical advertising for touring companies in the late 1890s. Posters like this were pasted on walls, fences, and storefronts along a tour route, so their bold lettering and portrait-style layout were built to be read quickly from across the street.
