The poster's title calls the bombing of Madrid the "military" practice of the Rebels, and its warning that "your children will be next" shows how the Republican side used fear of air raids to rally support. Printed by the Ministry of Propaganda in Madrid between 1936 and 1939, it appeared as Nationalist forces pressed toward the capital in late 1936, when aerial attacks killed civilians, including children. A French-language version also exists, which suggests the poster was meant for audiences abroad as well as for Spaniards.
