The title on this glass negative links the image to Frank R. Jelleff and a display of flowers, though the National Photo Company's wording is unverified and the record does not say whether the arrangement was a store display, a floral decoration, or something else. The National Photo Company worked in Washington, D.C., from the early 1900s through the 1930s, producing thousands of negatives of the city's streets, buildings, and commercial life. Its glass plates were donated to the Library of Congress in 1947, and this one shows the streaks and blemishes that come from deterioration of the original photographic coating. Those marks are worth noticing, since they show how the negative has aged across roughly a century.
