Miss Alice Robertson was photographed in June 1921, just months into her term as one of Oklahoma's first representatives in Congress. Before entering politics, she was a Presbyterian educator who ran a mission school for Creek children in Indian Territory. The National Photo Company made this glass negative as part of its work recording public figures in Washington, and the plate shows streaks and blemishes from the natural deterioration of its original coatings.
