Two players from rival American League clubs, Otis Clymer of the Washington team at bat and Red Kleinow of New York behind the plate, appear together in this 1909 print. The title and date were assigned through research by the Pictorial History Committee of the Society for American Baseball Research in 2006, so the identifications rest on that later review rather than on a caption from the time. The photograph is a Bain News Service image, from a New York agency that supplied news pictures to newspapers in the early 1900s. It offers a useful view of the era's ballparks and uniforms before the modern game's standardized equipment.
