Eastern High School, one of Washington's public high schools, is the setting here, and the pictured group belongs to its Good Fellows club, a student organization whose activities the record does not describe. The picture is a glass negative from the National Photo Company, a Washington studio that recorded many aspects of city life in the early twentieth century. Its date of 1919 or 1920 is estimated from neighboring negatives rather than a dated caption, and the plate shows streaks and blemishes from deterioration of its original coating.
