A woman on skis anchors this c1941 poster, which presents New Hampshire as a winter destination for sport and travel. American ski tourism was expanding quickly around this time, helped by the opening of Sun Valley in Idaho in 1936, and states competed for visitors with bold color posters like this one. The artist, Hechenberger, shows skiing as athletic, stylish and open to women as well as men. Its bright palette is typical of the American travel posters printed during the early 1940s.
