An eagle dives at the double-headed eagle of the Habsburg monarchy above mountain peaks, a clash that stands in for the war between Italy and Austria-Hungary. Printed as a color lithograph in 1918, the poster belongs to a wartime tradition of using birds of prey and national emblems to rally support at home. The Italian front ran through the Alps and Dolomites from 1915 until the armistice of November 1918, so the mountain backdrop points to the terrain where the fighting took place. The record does not name the artist.
