Two horses flank a rider in this c1904 print, made outside a circus tent with the performer positioned between the animals, as if presenting both the act and the mount. Bareback riding was one of the most popular attractions under the big top in the early 1900s, and women who worked as equestrians were a visible part of that trade, which the subject headings group under women's employment. The notation on the record points to registration with the U.S. Copyright Office, one route by which commercial photographs of performers reached the Library of Congress.
