A woman peddling fish is the subject of this color lithograph, a street-trade scene from the early 1830s. Endicott & Swett made the print, and A. N. Toy and W. R. Lucas published it in Baltimore, where street-vendor images were popular. The record dates it to 1831 in brackets, which suggests the year was supplied by cataloguers rather than printed on the sheet. Its attention to the woman's dress makes it useful for studying everyday clothing of the period as well as the trade itself.
