This Copenhagen poster, printed in 1949 by Dyva & Jeppesens Bogtrykkeri, advertises *The Reckless Moment*, the Max Ophüls melodrama of that year. Its two featured performers, James Mason and Joan Bennett, play a blackmailer and a suburban mother whose lives collide after a crisis at home. The film was adapted from Elisabeth Sanxay Holding's novel *The Blank Wall*, and its restrained, tense style made it a notable example of American domestic drama of the period. The poster shows how a Hollywood release was marketed to European audiences in the years after the war.
