Keep 'em flying!" is a 1942 recruiting poster that urges Americans to join the air crews that the United States Army needed after it entered the Second World War. The slogan speaks to the pilots, navigators, gunners and mechanics who kept bombers and fighters in the air, and it places their work at the center of the war effort. Ivan Dmitri, the artist credited on the poster, produced a number of color posters for military recruiting during these years. Its bright, direct style reflects how wartime posters tried to make service in the air forces look both urgent and attainable.
