Printed as a color lithograph in 1896, this Easter poster advertised *Harper's Bazaar*, the weekly fashion and literature magazine published by Harper & Brothers in New York. Will H. Bradley, one of the most influential American graphic designers of the 1890s, drew on the flat color shapes and decorative curves of the Art Nouveau style that was then sweeping European poster art. His work for periodicals helped establish the poster as a serious art form in the United States, and his bold, stylized figures made magazine advertising stand out on crowded city walls and newsstands. The date and promotional details here come from an old caption card and have not been verified.
