Constance Binney was an American stage and silent-film actress whose portrait is preserved here as a glass negative from the George Grantham Bain Collection at the Library of Congress. The Bain News Service, a New York photo agency, produced and distributed images of theater performers, politicians and newsworthy figures in the early twentieth century, and its glass plates were the working originals from which prints were made for newspapers and magazines. Because the record notes that the title comes from unverified data on the negative or caption card, the exact date and occasion of this sitting are not confirmed.
