Few towns in Virginia hold as many layers of the past as Fredericksburg, and this color poster, titled *Old Homes and History Around Fredericksburg*, gathers them onto one sheet. It is credited to John T. Goolrick, a local writer known for his histories of the town. The catalog dates it to about 1933 and places it in Fredericksburg, but both are uncertain, so treat them as a working estimate. Its subject is the older houses of the area, many of which lived through the Civil War battles that swept past the town in 1862 and 1863.
