The title's "safe place to land" pairs real estate with aerial imagery, and the gallery files this color poster under balloons. It promotes choice lots at Oakland Place in Catlettsburg, Kentucky, a small town where the Big Sandy River meets the Ohio. The poster was issued by Bowman Realty Co. of Huntington, West Virginia, in 1909, and it names a "Prosperity Meteor" in its lettering. Developers of that era often used eye-catching advertising to draw buyers, and the balloon theme shows how exciting flight still was to the public.
