Unlike the recruiting and Liberty Loan posters that dominate the wartime record, this lithograph carries no picture at all, only a block of text asking customers to help the government by cooperating in efficient delivery and distribution. It was copyrighted by Brentano's, the New York bookseller, and its appeal reflects the drive to save labor, vehicles, and fuel after the United States entered the war in 1917. Appeals like this one asked businesses and shoppers to cut wasteful deliveries, showing how ordinary commerce was enlisted in the home front effort.
