I used >to live in Ap'ton but want to check for current info as to the nightlife >downtown and the best Sunday brunch around. These guys will be staying at the >Paper Valley. They'll have a car. Up above there, I'm guessing you're talking about the nightlife on Saturday night and not Sunday night. So for Sat. night, there is usually some blues acts around the Valley... Best spot for this in my opinion is Slim's in Neenah. For dance clubs, Route '66 is consistently voted best club. Next to that is Park Central which also gets a lot of clients. In the Paper Valley there's The Clubhouse which is a big screen tv bar with all the usual hotel touches. The hotel has a casual dining area called The Garden and _brunches_ may be served there, as is a buffet on (I think) Friday night. For a Gentrified Steak dinner, try the Vince Lombardi Steakhouse in the hotel. And for the more adventurous, I'd suggest Champagne Charlies' Cajun cuisine a few doors down. CC's may have a jazz combo in there on Sat., but not sure since they moved to this new location. >TIA for any and all reviews and suggestions. _Wisconsin New Month_ magazine has the best dining guide and restaurant reviews from the whole area. Lastly, one of the reasons that wi.northeastern.talk got started was to exchange just this sort of information not available through other newsgroups. So I hope some others, lurking or active, will add some things to this. BFN, lon > >- John Foote; Blanchardville, WI
