I went there a couple of weeks ago with my wife and some friends. the
appitizers were all superb - especially the thai crab bisque. The
entrees were a little uneven. I had duck and it was wonderful but the
flavor combinations were a little conflicting. The duck was smoked and
placed on top of a southwestern style tortilla mound. I felt that the
duck had to fight with the tortilla mound for flavor dominance. My wife
had lamb and it was just ok. The lamb was put on top of a strange flat
bread that had a "fizzy" consistency when eaten. I can't remember what
my friends had but I do remember that they enjoyed it. Also, the
presentation of the food was truly marvelous and creative. Last, the
desserts were outstanding. I had the best creme brulee ever - and it
came with a chocolate covered spoon!
The service was slow. We arrived at 8:30 (with reservations) but we
were not seated until 9:15. fortunately, there was space at the bar and
we could people watch. I get the impression that Theoz is a place "to
be seen". We ordered right away but we didn't get our main dishes until
about 10:30. They didn't seem to be short staffed - it was a problem
with the kitchen. I must add that they realized that our dinner was
slow arriving and they were very appoligetic. In fact, they gave us
dessert on the house and a glass of very nice port to boot. I would
 certainly go back. ez
