Here's another vote for The General BB-Q. Clarification on location: It's off of Madison (turn right into a little parking lot --around 20th--it's before you get to Planned Parenthood. It's kind of hidden behind a little hardware store if I recall....) Nice, nice people. Killer peach cobbler. They even made a huge pan of it--special order--as a birthday "cake" for a friend a couple of years ago. I haven't been in a long time. Thanks for the motivation! I'll have to go! Megan

Ribs
I know you said Seattle but on the Eastside is Texas Smokehouse BBQ on the Woodinville-Redmond Road, just south of Woodinville. Excellent beef brisket and ribs, not so hot cornbread. All you can eat ribs on Monday nights, though, and much, much better barbeque that Armidillo ribs also in Woodinville!

IMHO the wildefire BBQ at Gilman Village in Issaquah sets the standard - dry rubbed and not too heavily smoked. All their other stuff is wonderful as well. I've tried Dixie's (like it too), three pigs (ok), and Armadillo (didn't like) as well. Good luck Jim Sanchez - Network Consultant 3Com Corporation - Bellevue WA [email removed] (206)450-4918

H.D. Hotspurs in Kent, in the valley, gets my vote hands down.

/In/ Seattle, by my taste, I'd have to say Ventana, in Fremont. They're
Korean-style short pork ribs, served on a bed of garlicky pickled
cabbage. Oink.I have to say I was unimpressed by the barbacue sauce at Dixie's. Sure it's hot, but I don't think dumping half a cup of cayenne pepper into a sauce leads to a very good flavor... I've had very hot sauces where the overall flavor was much more appealing. Otherwise their food is fine!
