The S.I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill youAug 8, 1997
Molly Taylor did scream across the aether, and the
 message was:
 # Is there a good Italian restaurant in downtown Seattle? I've been to
 # Isabella's, which is absolutely wonderful, but I want a more "traditional"
 # Italian restaurant. Fettuccini Alfredo, Lasagna, Manicotti, etc. Any
 # suggestions?

I've had bad experiences downtown, but then I've only been to a
couple Italian restaurants downtown. Gaspare Trani recently opened Il
Gambero, and if the food at his old restaurant is anything to go be, it
should be good. If you're willing to go outside downtown, you might try
Salvatore, at 61st and Roosevelt (Just north of the University District).
Avoid La Buca, I've been there twice, and both times the pasta was
seriously overcooked (gummy pasta, it's just wrong).

As for downtown Italian restaurants, I like Salute in Citta, in
the Vance Hotel at Stewart Street and about 7th Avenue.
