My wife and I spent this weekend (Labor Day weekend) in your wonderful
city. We want to thank all of you that gave us suggestions and any that
we may have seen while there.

Being there for a short time, we didn't have time to do all that we
wanted to do but we had a great weekend. The following is a synopsis of
what we did and what we thought of it.

Took the stila limo from the airport to the hotel. Actually less
expensive than a cab would have been because we were delayed in traffic
for 45 minutes. A good bargain and an option I recommend. Got in town to
the hotel at about 1:30. Stayed at the MarQueen hotel near the Center.
Not the best part of town, but very interesting. The hotel is former
apartments with complete furnished kitchens and sitting rooms. Large.
 Reasonably clean.

Ate some soup at Credenzia's Kitchen on Mercer (about 16 Mercer), very
 good soup and bread.

Ate dinner at the revolving restaurant in the Space Needle. Very good. I
had grilled Salmon that was excellent. Expensive (we spent $100 with the
tip and ordered just an entree and a glass of wine), but very well worth
it for the view. Talked to some people that live in Seattle and got some
extra points of view. Got up there when the sun was up, left and went to
the observation deck above after dark. Listened to whomever was playing
at Bumbershoot for a few minutes..very interesting people going in and
out of there. We sat for a while and watched (maybe I should mention
here that I am 48 and my wife is 44). I am an ex-hippie, but some of
 these guys got us beat.....

Took a 3 hour bus tour and saw a lot of Seattle and the immediate area.
A good idea to get familiar with the city.

Went to (of course) Pike Place Market and saw the guys throwing the
fish. It was packed (Sunday afternoon). We got some clam chowder there
from one of the stands there. Excellent and reasonable price.

Went on the (car) ferry to Bainbridge Island. Didn't get off, just
enjoyed the view and the ride over and back. Excellent way to see the
 city.

Ate clam strips, fish and chips at Steamers. Very good clams, ok fish.
Good fries. They also have *huge* ice cream cones.

Decided the aquarium was too much ($8.50 I think) since it is known to
 be small.

Had coffee (again) at the original Starbucks store (#1) which is across
the street from the Pike Place Market.

Went to Nordstroms and got on the Monorail to the Space Needle - nice
 short ride through town.

That is about all we had time to do while there. All in all, we are very
 glad that we went.
