We were in Seattle not all that long ago and particularly enjoyed
Rover's, a rather classic and fine French restaurant somewhat out of
the center of town in a very residential almost suburban area.
Downtown, we enjoyed dinner at Brasa, a rather young and a bit trendy
restaurant. I guess the food at Brasa was NW meets the Mediterannean,
but it was a friendly and thoroughly successful meeting. I'm sure
Seattle has some good Italian restaurants, but so do other places.

Seattle has dozens of Italian restaurants. The best probably is Il Terrazzo
Carmine, followed, in no particular order, by La Buca, Leo Melina's, Assaggio
 and Al Boccalino.

Cafe Juanita, across Lake Washington in Kirkland, is an excellent bet.

I wouldn't put La Buca or Leo Melina's anywhere near the "best" list.
Seriously. Replace them with Cafe Lago. Asiaggo and Al Boccalino I agree
 with.
