We dined at Adriatica (on Dexter) a few weeks ago for a special occasion and were disappointed. This was billed as such a special restaurant with special food, neither of which we experienced. The service was either obsequious (waitress) or surly (water boy). The food was good but overpriced for what you got. The appetizer, head of roasted garlic with chevre and olives, was wonderful. I never made it there before WRQ blocked their view of Lake Union; maybe it was the view that everyone fell in love with. Betsy

"Special"-ness or greatness is hard to maintain. Many restaurants have a life cycle like a bell curve. A rocky start, a steady climb to a peak, then a just as steady decline. I think that may be the case at Adriatica. I had a good but not spectacular meal there two years ago. Given what I've heard (other comments like Betsy's) and what I experienced I'd be hard pressed at this point to choose it over a number of other places for a "special" night out. Wayne
